And you have so many choices of things you can use to make jewelry that youll never run out of cool projects to produce more and more jewelry. One thing youre going to love is a pair of metal tab earrings. Pull the tabs off of two soda or beer cans and it will take just minutes to make the earrings. After that, you can wear them as is, or embellish them with any number of accents. After opening a can of soda or beer youll have to wiggle the tab back and forth to get it off of the can. Remove two tabs to make one pair of earrings. The part of the tab that was connected to the can will become the bottom of the earring. At the top, hook a jump ring onto the hole. You can find jump rings or other findings, at a store that sells jewelry making supplies, like a craft store. Open the ring with a pair of needle nose pliers, hook it on the top of the tab, then clamp it shut onto a wire earring hardware piece.<br /><br />The soda or beer can tab makes a cute earring, and can be worn as it is, but you can do all sorts of things to create a more embellished look. Glue on a jewel to make one type of earring. Rhinestones are cheap, available in many colors and sizes, and look great on the finished earrings. Another object you can attach to the can tab is a button. A button without a shank will fit perfectly on the bottom part of the can tab. Other options for embellishing the tab include wrapping it with colored wire, or even a tiny novelty.<br /><br />You can make the earrings dangle more when you give them a different design. At the bottom of the tab, attach another jump ring, and hang another tab on it. Add two or three to make the earrings as long as you want. Or, hang something else from the bottom of the tab, like a tiny tassel.<br /><br />Soda and beer can tabs come in various colors, depending on the design and colors of the can itself. Look for cans with tabs of colors like pink, gold, or even green. Experiment with different colors of tabs, different embellishments, and assorted designs, to create a whole collection of the unusual, pretty earrings.
